Overview

A national centre for developing capability and leadership

The Institute of Metallurgical Refinery for Training (IMRT) is a national centre for developing capability and leadership in the mining and minerals sector. It works to transfer knowledge and experience, strengthen technical and leadership capability, and prepare qualified national personnel in line with international best practice.

The institute delivers academic, technical, field and leadership programmes that contribute to raising the readiness of national capability, strengthening localization in specialised roles, and enabling Saudi personnel to work competently with modern technologies and systems — supporting the growth of the mining sector and the scale of expansion expected in the Kingdom.

The institute collaborates with universities, institutes, training centres and specialised bodies locally and internationally to transfer experience, develop programmes and support Saudi personnel. Its services and initiatives expand in phases over the coming years to cover the various stages and disciplines of the mining value chain.
